The effect of diet on the development of the adipose organ.

چکیده
The possibility that an infant’s diet may influence the later development of obesity or of atheroma gives this subject its interest and importance. The concept of the body’s depot fat as constituting an ‘organ’ is probably a useful one, but only so long as it does not lead to unwarranted simplification. For instance, samples of depot fat taken from the adipose tissue of a baby’s buttock tend to have larger fat cells than those from the abdominal wall, so that we must be cautious before assuming that single fat samples are rcpresentative of all depot fat. Chemical composition. The lipid laid down in the depot fat of a mammal generally reflects the chemical constitution of the fats fed to it, and this applies equally in the human species. Fig. I illustrates how the fatty acid composition of the triglyccride of the baby’s adipose tissue is determined by the type of fat in the milk it receives.

Background & Aims: Physical activity by modulating angiogenesis in adipose tissue, effects on the entire body metabolic profile. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 12 weeks of moderate intensity continuous training on VEGF, PEDF and PAI-1 of visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue in obese rats. Materials & Methods: 15 male Wistar rats were divided into 2 groups...
متن کاملEffects of Endurance Training on the Expression of Cathepsin B (CTSB) and Cathepsin L (CTSL) genes in the Adipose Tissue of Mice with a High-Fat Diet
Introduction: In high-fat diet-induced obesity, the levels of cathepsin L (CTSL) and cathepsin B (CTSB) increase in adipocytes, resulting in insulin resistance in the adipose tissue. In this study, the preventive effect of endurance training on the gene expression of CTSL and CTSB was investigated in the adipose tissue of mice with a high-fat diet. Materials and Methods: Twenty-one male mice (a...

Objective: The effects of kiwifruit on the histology and cell size of adipose tissue in hyperlipidemic models have not yet been reported. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of kiwifruit on the adipose tissue cell size and activity as well as the gene expression of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) in high-fat diet (HFD...
متن کاملThe effect of aerobic exercise on epicardial adipose tissue, insulin resistance, and some liver enzymes in high-fat diet-induced obesity male wistar rat
Background and Aim: Due to the prevalence and socio-economic consequences of obesity in mortality, cardiovascular (CAD) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease the effectiveness of aerobic exercise on epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), insulin resistance (IR) and some liver enzymes of high-fat diet-induced obesity male wistar rats was investigated. Methods: Thirty-two male Wistar rats with an averag...

Background and Objectives: Caraway (Carum carvi) is one of the medicinal plants which is traditionally used for weight loss. The purpose of the present study was to determine the effect of 6 weeks aerobic training and aqueous extract of caraway seed (carum carvi) on expression of CTRP12 gene, body weight changes and subcutaneous adipose tissue in obese male rats. Materials and Methods: In this...
متن کاملThe effect of interval and continuous training on the content of perilipin 1, ATGL and CGI-58 in visceral adipose tissue of obese male rats
Background and Aim: Obesity is an excessive accumulation of fat and its storage due to an imbalance between energy intake and energy consumption. High-fat diets, through inhibition of lipolysis enzymes can lead to increase in obesity and also many metabolic diseases. While exercise can activate these enzymes and lead to a change in the amount of visceral adipose tissue and reduce obesity. The p...
